Kids, have you ever heard about a book with no words? It’s called the “Wordless Book” because it uses colors to tell us about God and Heaven. It uses the colors - Gold, Dark, Red, and Clean.
The Gold Color. Let’s start with the Gold Color. What does the color gold remind you of? (Listen to answers). The gold color reminds me of things like winning the gold medal at the Olympics. (Have you heard about the Olympics?) The person with the score closest to perfect wins a gold medal. The gold color also reminds me of Heaven were the Bible says there are streets of gold (Revelation 21:21). How cool is that! Heaven is a perfect place and those who want to go there must be perfect. So are you perfect? The Bible says that none of us are perfect (Romans 3:23).
The Dark Color. The Dark Color can remind us of things that are dirty. The Bible says that all of us (parents and kids) have dark hearts when we do bad things like telling lies, stealing, and using God’s name as a cuss word (Romans 3:23). Having a dark heart will keep us from going to Heaven (Revelation 21:27). This is Bad News. But there is Good News. God has made a way for us to be forgiven for the bad things we have done, and have our hearts washed clean.
The Red Color. The Red Color can remind us of many things - and one of them is that God loves us (John 3:16). God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to make a way for us to be forgiven, and have our hearts washed clean. (Kids, this next part may be hard to understand, so ask your parents, or a pastor to explain it to you.) Jesus died on a cross to pay the penalty for the bad things we have done (Hebrews 9:27) so that we could be forgiven and have our hearts washed clean. This is Good News!
The Clean Color. The Clean Color can remind us of many things - like fresh clean snow. Another thing the clean color can remind us of is God’s promise that if we come to Him in prayer asking to be forgiven and have our dark hearts washed clean He will answer that prayer (1 John 1:9, Luke 18:13-14, Isaiah 1:18), and do what we have asked. This is Great News!
Decision. Kids, do you want to a clean heart and God’s forgiveness for all the bad things you have done? (If yes) …

Let’s talk with God right now, and ask Him to forgive wash our hearts clean, and help us live in a way that puts a smile on His face.
“Dear Jesus, I have done bad things that have made my heart dark in your eyes. Please wash my heart clean, and help me live in a way that puts a smile on your face. Amen”
